Lake Manyara National Park, July 2015

In my opinion, out of the different areas and camps we went to in Tanzania, this was my absolute favourite. It was so lush and the animals stood out so nicely against the different backdrops that it was perfect for photography. We also loved the lake and seeing the birds that came with that.

The National Park is most famous for the thousands of flamingos that flock here in the wet season, which we were fortunate enough to see and photograph. My sister is studying photography and is really interested in it so it was a great opportunity for her to get some serious practice in.

400 different species of bird can be found in the park. I’m not sure in three days we saw all 400, but we certainly saw a lot, and a great variety.

Vicky and I weren’t the only cheeky monkeys in Tanzania…
